A recent research paper into the addictive effects of vaping versus tobacco cigarettes is attracting attention from public health experts due. The study which observed over 32,586 people was independently funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Center for Tobacco Products raised numerous interesting findings and was made up of the following people…

  • 6 percent self-identified as only-vapers
  • 4 percent self-identified as only-smokers
  • 93 percent of the only-vapers were also former smokers
  • 7 percent self-identified as experimental smokers or social smokers

The scientists discovered through the survey that vapers tend to wait longer in the morning before taking their first hit of the day  compared to when they were smoking. The vape-only group were seen to be better able to avoid vaping in restricted areas, and also agreed that their cravings to vape were less severe than when they were smoking.

Vapers have long thought that their habit was easier to give up than smoking tobacco and this recent research backs this up.
